Our company was founded in 1981 with a commitment to providing quality and innovative vocational education and training to meet the needs of industry. This remains the HVTC’s mission today, as we pursue excellence in training, education and employment for all Australians.
We were established in 1987 to provide training in the Metal Fabrication / Fitting Machining and Electrical trades, as well as fee-for-service and Government labour market programmes. Over the years its role expanded to cover Jobskills and Jobtrain programmes, pre-vocational training, work for the dole, vocational training for Years 11 and 12 students, commercial work and facilities hire.

Hunter-V-Tec is also a group training company that employs apprentices and trainees and then places them with “host employers”. The aim is to provide varied, on-the-job experience combined with accredited vocational training to ensure that apprentices and trainees cover all the competencies necessary for them to achieve their trade qualifications.
