Are you interested in supporting the Australian Army Reserve?
 
Become the employer of an apprentice or trainee and you can also be supporting the Australian Army.
 
How does it work?
 
This scheme offers opportunities for young Australians to serve part time in the Army Reserve whilst training to become a qualified tradesperson.
 
The apprentices and trainees are employed by Hunter-V-Tec and hosted to local businesses to gain their on the job experience.
 
What are the benefits for you?
 
You will be eligible to receive $1000 per 5 day block that your apprentice/trainee attends training between February and December each year.
 
Hunter-V-Tec does the recruitment, arranges all the training, paperwork, liaison with government agencies, monitoring of apprentice/trainee performance and completing of competencies, as well as payroll.
 
The apprentice/trainee can also gain on the job experience whilst they are on army reserve training.
 
What is expected of you as the host employer?
 
You need to release the apprentice to attend Army Reserve Training, up to 159 days per year.
 
You need to provide appropriate training opportunities.

  • Engineering Mechanical
  • Carpentry
  • Electrical
  • Plumbing
Traineeships
  • Supply Coordinator
  • Clerical Admin
  • Clerical Payroll
  • Cook
  • Plant Operation
